Barion is an electronic payment service that allows you to pay conveniently and securely with your bank card or a preloaded balance in online stores, mobile applications, or to your friends.
The service is provided by Barion Payment Zrt., an institution supervised by the National Bank of Hungary, licence number: H-EN-I-1064/2013.
Pay conveniently with a bank card
Registration is not required for bank card payments. It is sufficient to provide your bank card number, expiry date, the CVC code located on the back of the card, and a valid e-mail address.
If you register, you will never need to enter your card number again at any merchant accepting Barion. For payment, only your e-mail address and password will be required. This is not only convenient but also increases security.
You can use the following cards for payment:
Mastercard or Maestro bank cards
Visa or Electron bank cards
American Express (Amex) bank cards
Pay conveniently without a bank card
If you do not have a bank card, you can use your preloaded Barion balance for payment. The balance can be topped up by bank transfer or cash deposit, and friends or business partners can also send money to it. In this case, payment can be made using your e-mail address and password.
Free of charge
Bank card payments do not involve any additional charge for the customer. Registration, the Barion mobile application, receiving and sending money are free of charge and will remain so. There is no monthly fee.
Track your purchases
With Barion applications, you can track your purchases on the web or on mobile devices. The free Barion wallet immediately notifies you of every purchase and allows you to see what you have purchased. You can also manage your Barion balance and send or receive money.
Security comes first
Barion’s servers are protected by modern TLS encryption technologies. Before making a payment, always verify that you are entering your bank card details or password on Barion’s secure payment page.
Barion complies with the PCI DSS requirements prescribed by international card schemes and is therefore authorised to process bank card data. The security of Barion’s systems is designed in accordance with the requirements of the National Bank of Hungary.
Our online store only receives information about the final result of the transaction; the entered card data is not transmitted to us.
Payment on the Barion Smart Gateway interface is possible by entering card details or, in the case of Barion wallet holders, by using their own password, both in desktop and mobile browsers.
This payment method does not require registration. Registration can be completed during the first payment, but it is optional.
Registration and the use of the Barion wallet are free of charge.
Registration makes using the system more convenient, as card details do not need to be entered again at the given merchant or at any other merchant accepting Barion.

Steps of payment with Barion:
Select the product and place it in your cart.
At checkout, choose the desired shipping method and select Barion as the payment method.
After accepting the Terms and Conditions, click the “Place Order” button.
Payment by entering bank card details
This payment method is available to anyone who has a Mastercard, Maestro, Visa, Electron or American Express bank card or credit card suitable for online payments.
To complete the payment, card details and an e-mail address are required.
Barion registration is not required for payment, however acceptance of the Terms and Conditions is required in every case.
Payment with a Barion wallet
Payment using a stored bank card
This payment method is available to anyone who has a Mastercard, Maestro, Visa, Electron or American Express bank card or credit card suitable for online payments and a valid Barion registration.
Card details are stored on Barion’s secure servers. Payment requires only an e-mail address and password.
Multiple bank cards may be stored in a single Barion wallet.
Payment using a preloaded Barion balance
This payment method is available to anyone with a valid Barion registration, including users who do not have a bank card.
Only an e-mail address and password are required for payment.
The electronic money available on the balance can be loaded in advance by cash deposit at Barion top-up points or by bank transfer from a bank account.
